STORY
１９４３年第二次世界大戦下のビルマ。日本軍の斉藤大佐を長とする捕虜収容所に、ニコルソン隊長率いる英軍捕虜が送られてきた。鉄橋建設を急ぐ斉藤大佐は、米軍のシアーズとともに建設現場で働くことを彼らに命令。工事は着々と進み橋は完成に近づくが、丁度その頃、同じ英軍の手によって橋の爆破工作が進められていた・・・。
After settling his differences with a Japanese PoW camp commander, a British colonel co-operates to oversee his men's construction of a railway bridge for their captors - while oblivious to a plan by the Allies to destroy it.
